Wedding specific questions

  • What is the schedule of things?

    • On Friday night, August 6th, we will have a joint bachelor/bachelorette party, everyone from the wedding is welcome to join! We will have one round of drinks at the hotel bar then we will take a bus into Dublin City for a pub crawl. ​

    • The wedding will be on Saturday, August 7th. The Ceremony will be at 2pm followed by the Drink's Reception, then Dinner will be after that likely around 5:30pm, then Speeches/Cake/Dancing.

  • Do you have a registry?

    • Since we currently live in a studio apartment in NYC and will likely be there a few more years we do not have a registry but we are saving for a honeymoon fund!​

  • How do I RSVP?

    • Click the RSVP button at the link https://www.emilylombardi.com/rsvp then search your full name then fill out the questionnaire! If you have an issue feel free to text/call Emily or Andrew and we can manually update your RSVP.

  • What is wedding rate for rooms at Clontarf Castle Hotel?

    • BOOK EARLY, there may be another wedding that weekend, so the hotel may book out.

    • The wedding ceremony and reception will be held at Clontarf Castle Hotel, Castle Avenue, Clontarf, Dublin 3, Ireland, D03 W5N0.

    • Clontarf Castle has around 100 rooms available to stay in, you can book the hotel online at https://www.clontarfcastle.ie/ or by calling +353 1 833 2321. 

    • Costs per night vary and can cost anywhere between $200 per night - $550 per night, depending on when you book and the day of the week you are booking for (weekends are more expensive).

  • Can I stay in the Clontarf Castle Hotel more nights than just the wedding weekend?

    • Yes! Just make sure to book early because there may be another wedding that weekend and rooms book out fast.​

  • How do I get from the Airport to Clontarf Castle?

    • You can take an Uber, usually it is around $30 and a 20 min trip.​

  • Does the hotel include cribs?

    • Yes​! And high chairs for the reception, just let us know if your little one will be joining ahead of time. 

  • Do I have to stay at Clontarf Castle?

    • No, feel free to stay anywhere you want! Whether it's another hotel nearby, an Airbnb, or a place in Dublin City. The wedding may go late into the night so it may be convenient to stay at Clontarf Castle the night before the Wedding and the night of...but there are definitely more budget friendly options nearby!

    • Try https://www.bandbireland.com/ or https://www.airbnb.com/ to look for Traditional Bed & Breakfast spots in Ireland, be sure to check reviews!

  • Do you have any other hotels besides Clontarf Castle you'd recommend?

    • There are plenty of options in Dublin City and around Clontarf, we'd recommend staying at Clontarf Castle but if that doesn't work for your budget or you want to be closer to the city then feel free to book any hotels or Airbnbs in the area! ​Dublin City is about 20min Uber drive from Clontarf Castle and is accessible by Bus too. 

  • Are kids allowed? 

    • Yes! Just check with Emily or Andrew beforehand.​

  • What type of food will be served at the Reception? 

    • We will post a picture of menu once finalized, but there will be a choice of starter, soup, fish or steak, and dessert.

    • Kids get choice of chicken fingers, mashed potatoes, and ice cream.

    • At 11pm there will be finger food served (aka drunk people food).

  • Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

    • All of our festivities will be inside Clontarf Castle. Except the pub crawl for the joint stag/hen party will be somewhat outdoors when walking between pubs.​​​

  • Will there be a Stag & Hen Party the night before the wedding? 

  • When should I fly in and out?

    • That is up to you! We would recommend flying in at least a few days before the wedding to adjust to jet lag and in case of delays. We will have a Stag/Hen party the night of Friday​, August 6th, so if you would like to attend that please plan accordingly. 

  • Do I have to rent a car?

    • No, Ireland drives on the left side of the road so it may be daunting to rent a car, you can easily get around Ireland by Uber, Bus, or Train so feel free to utilize those if you don't want to rent a car.​

  • What is there to do in Dublin?

  • What side of the road does Ireland drive on?

    • The LEFT side!​

  • What is the weather like there?

    • No promises on weather, but Ireland in the summertime is usually nice, around 50-80F, there is always a chance of rain so plan accordingly and always pack a sweater (or buy a few wool sweaters in Ireland).

  • What airline do you recommend?

    • We recommend Jet Blue, Aer Lingus, Delta, there really aren't any bad options in our opinion. Book what works best for your schedule and budget!​

  • What currency does Ireland use?

    • Ireland uses the € Euro (but England uses the £ Pound​).

    • 1 Euro equals about 1.16 United States Dollar.

  • What metric system does Ireland use?

    • Ireland measures in Meters/km, weight is in Kilograms, and temperature is in Celsius. ​
